Applying to Biology Graduate Programs

The Department of Biology is currently in the process of merging our application system with a new application system being deployed by the FAU Graduate College.  

The Biology Masters Program applications and Professional Science Masters Program in Business Biotechnology (P.S.M.) applications are now completely online. When you apply you need only submit one application through the Graduate College and your supplemental information will be uploaded there. The Graduate College Application can be found here .

At this time applicants to the Integrative PhD Program (core and concentrations) need to submit one application to the Department and a second, separate application to the FAU Graduate College .  The departmental application can be found below. The Graduate College Application can be found here .

At this time applicants to the Master of Environmental Science need to submit one application to the Department and a  second, separate application to the FAU Graduate College . The departmental application can be found below. The Graduate College Application can be found here .

Please note that the below are departmental application requirements and that The Graduate College requires official versions of each of these documents:

1) Unofficial copy of transcript(s),

2) Unofficial copy of GRE score report, 

3) Unofficial copy of TOEFL score reports (for international students when applicable),

4) Unofficial copy of course-by-course transcript evaluations with calculated GPA(s) for international transcripts (see here for a list of approved evaluation agencies).

The above items should be submitted in PDF format.  Applicants applying through the new application system will need to upload these documents directly into the online application.  All others must submit them directly to the department via paper mail or email (see each of the below applications for details on where to send your materials).

Please note that international applicants who have a) spent the last two years in an English speaking environment, b) are green card holders, or c) originate from countries where English is an official language and is the language of instruction in higher education (click here for a list ), do not need to submit TOEFL scores. However, a course-by-course transcript evaluation with a GPA equivalent is still required.

**BS/MS fast-track applicants should use the Master of Science in Biology Thesis Option or Non-thesis option 1 applications linked above.
