Boris Tezak is an alumnus of Dr. Wyneken’s lab, in which his research centered around understanding the interactions between the incubation environment and sea turtle development. Boris became particularly interested in the molecular mechanisms behind temperature-dependent sex determination and developing techniques to identify the sex of sea turtle hatchlings. Boris is now a postdoctoral fellow in the Capel lab at Duke University Medical Center. Although Boris has moved away from sea turtles for a little while, his research still centers around the molecular mechanisms behind sex determination. When Boris is not in the lab, you can usually find him outdoors hiking/camping, underwater freediving/spearfishing, or enjoying BBQ and cold beer with friends.
