Bachelor degrees in biology provide versatility for students pursuing interdisciplinary areas such as environmental science and teaching and for students planning to be expert biologists in academia, industry or governmental service, and careers in medicine, dentistry or veterinary medicine. The B.A. degree is intended to provide maximum flexibility for students pursuing study in interdisciplinary areas such as environmental science or secondary school teaching. In addition to the University and College degree requirements, students seeking a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Sciences must complete 120 total credits (including the core requirements and 45 upper-division credits).
