The National Save The Sea Turtle Foundation: FAU Undergraduate Scholarship

The  National  Save  the  Sea  Turtle  Foundation  has  donated funds to Florida Atlantic University to provide 4 undergraduate scholarships at $15,000 each during the 2019 - 2020 academic year. The scholarship will provide financial assistance to Charles E. Schmidt College of Science seniors enrolled at the Boca Raton Campus who demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, and a commitment to become scholars and ambassadors for the marine science program at FAU. The ideal candidate is an undergraduate about to enter their senior year with interests in any aspect of marine biology research at the organismal (ecological, evolutionary, or behavioral) level. Honors Biology students, and others already doing research projects, are especially encouraged to apply.

Specific requirements:

  • Minimum of 75 h of undergraduate coursework

  • Financial need

  • An unofficial transcript (minimum 3.0 GPA)

  • Interest in the physiology, ecology, behavior, evolution or biomechanics of any marine organism (vertebrate or invertebrate; animal or plant)

  • Support letter from a marine biology faculty mentor who agrees to advise the student and guide their progress toward the completion of a project.

  • A brief description (250 words or less) of the aims and significance of the project.
