Alex is an undergraduate student majoring in Biological Sciences and joined the Glenn W. and Cornelia T. Bailey Marine SEA Scholars program in Spring 2024. Alex conducts research in Dr. Marguerite Koch’s lab studying the effects of environmental stress on seagrass health and survival. She was drawn to the Glenn W. and Cornelia T. Bailey Marine SEA Scholars program because she wanted to gain new experiences in research and scientific communication. Alex’s goal is to educate our visitors about the importance of studying and understanding the marine environment. Alex plans to pursue a master’s degree and continue studying seagrass environments. When Alex is away from the lab, she enjoys birding, playing with her cats, walking, swimming, and knitting. |
