Elizabeth Schultheis is a master’s student in the Department of Biological Sciences under Dr. Jeanette Wyneken, while also serving as a research assistant on our leatherback husbandry team. Her current research focuses on investigating harmful fungi within the sands of leatherback sea turtle nests along the south Florida coastline. Elizabeth aims to examine how various environmental conditions influence the abundance of harmful fungi in these critical nesting habitats. In the future, she aspires to contribute to a research team as a biologist. Outside of the lab, Elizabeth can be found spending time appreciating nature and playing with her two dogs, Chrissy and Max. |
