Gabby is a PhD candidate in the Integrative Biology program in Dr. Wyneken’s lab. Gabby’s dissertation research is focused on identifying sex-specific markers in blood samples of sea turtles. She is interested in using this information to investigate population-level hatchling sex ratios in sea turtle species. During Gabby’s shifts as a docent in the Marine Lab visitor’s gallery, she strives to educate visitors about temperature dependent sex determination in sea turtles, with warmer nests producing females and cooler nests producing males. When Gabby is not in the lab, she can be found birding, going to the beach, and of course- having a good nap! |
