Megan is a Marine Biology student at the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College at FAU’s Jupiter Campus. Before joining the Glenn W. and Cornelia T. Bailey Marine SEA Scholars Program, she participated in sea turtle nest monitoring and hatchling husbandry at the FAU Marine Lab as a Directed Independent Research (DIR) student. Megan’s experience in the lab, along with her background in marine science education as a counselor-in-training at Under Blue Waters’ Ocean Adventure Camp, means she brings extra skills to the program. As a science communicator, she hopes to underscore the importance of studying and protecting the marine environment. Megan aspires to become a professor of marine biology, so that she may educate future generations about the importance of marine life, advocate for its protection, and expand humanity’s understanding of our mysterious blue world. When Megan is not in the lab, she enjoys shelling, kayaking, and swimming. |
