Danielle Riboul, an Integrative Biology doctoral student, recently attended a training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY. Riboul is leading a research collaboration between the laboratories of Dr. Greg Macleod, Associate Professor of Biology in the FAU Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College and Biology graduate program faculty, and Dr. David Hall, Professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Hall is the director of the world’s most extensive C. elegans electron microscopy database, the WormAtlas. This collaboration may reveal secrets regarding the transport of mitochondria within nerve cells, a process disrupted in many neurodegenerative diseases.
