Anastasia Tyulmenkova, a Biology Honors Thesis undergraduate researcher completing her 2nd bachelor's degree, presented her research at the Society for Neuroscience 49th Annual Meeting that was held in Chicago, Illinois on October 18-22, 2019. She is currently finishing her 2nd bachelor's degree in Neuroscience and Behavior in FAU's Charles E. Schmidt College of Science.Tyulmenkova works in the laboratory of Dr. Ceylan Isgor, Associate Professor of Biomedical Science and Biological Sciences programs faculty member. Research in the Isgor laboratory focuses in animal models of epilepsy, nicotine addiction and learning and memory.
Tyulmenkova presented her project entitled, "Cortical inactivity evoked by epileptic seizures is mediated by dysregulation of brainstem arousal circuits: Implications for REM and slow-wave sleep." To read the full abstract, click here.
