For students who are interested in the life sciences, the Biology Department of Florida Atlantic University offers two Masters degrees (four options) and one Ph.D. degree (one core and two concentrations). Each program is tailored to the needs and interests of the student.
The Department of Biological Sciences also participates in an interdisciplinary, masters program designed to provide students with specialized training in Environmental Science. All of the departments in the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science and the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters participate in the program, as do several other colleges at Florida Atlantic University.
A new interdisciplinary masters program in Marine Science is now accepting students. This new College of Science masters program will be jointly supported by the Biological Sciences Department and FAU's Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute. Applicants interested in marine studies at the masters level may also participate in marine science research under faculty participants in the current, established Biology masters and Environmental Science masters programs. See Degree Programs below for more information.
