Bria is an undergraduate student majoring in Biological Sciences with a minor in Psychology. She joined the Glenn W. and Cornelia T. Bailey SEA Scholars program in the Spring 2024 semester because she was drawn to Dr. Wyneken’s ongoing research regarding the effects of temperature on the sex determination of sea turtles. Bria is excited to participate in research and education to help conserve the sea turtle population. She believes it’s important to understand the role of human impacts on marine animals and their environments. She strives to educate the public about the marine labs’ efforts. Her goal is to help visitors understand how our actions may impact the health of our coastal environments. A take-home message Bria wants to leave with Marine Lab Gallery visitors is that every person making some positive change in their behavior can have a positive impact! After Bria graduates, she plans to continue her academic studies in Hawaii by pursuing a master’s degree in biological sciences. She is interested in studying the cognitive abilities and interactions of marine mammals (dolphins and seals)! Outside the lab, Bria can be found SCUBA diving, going to the beach, working out, and doing yoga. |
