We are located at the Gumbo Limbo Environmental Complex in Boca Raton, Florida. You can witness science in action at the FAU Marine Science Lab by visiting our unique visitors’ gallery. The visitors’ gallery offers guests a bird’s eye view of our research facility where you may see marine animals such as sea turtles, sharks, or rays and marine plant studies in progress. You can also interact with the students and professors who are working in the lab to learn more about the science topics we are trying to discover through our research and how we take care of the animals we are studying.
We encourage inquisitive minds of all ages to come and discover more about marine animals, plants, and the environment.
The visitors’ gallery is staffed with docents from the Glenn W. and Cornelia T. Bailey Marine SEA Scholars program to answer your questions and communicate our scientific findings. SEA Scholars are specially trained to educate audiences of all ages on the research taking place in the marine lab. From the various marine organisms featured in the gallery’s aquariums, to the sea turtles below in the research space, the FAU Marine Lab has plenty of interesting exhibits to explore and the docents are there to help visitors learn more from each of these engaging displays. There are also interactive and tactile exhibits for young children who want a hands-on experience with particular aspects of our research. Come visit the FAU Marine Lab today and meet amazing people along the way.
