clarkSofia Ojeda

Undergraduate SEA Scholar

Sofia Ojeda was a part of the SEA Scholar program in Dr. Wyneken’s lab, where she gained experience in community outreach and data management, as well as working with green and loggerhead sea turtles. Previously, Sofia worked under Dr. Salmon as a directed independent research (DIR) student to determine the impact of Sargassum mats on hatchling loggerhead turtles. Sofia graduated with a bachelor’s degree in marine biology. She is passionate about conservation and enjoys helping others by
offering math tutoring services. The opportunities given to Sofia have allowed her to enjoy both passions of helping others and researching the ocean. When Sofia is not in the lab, she is out on the beach snorkeling, at home playing video games, tending to her plants, and spending time with her cat, Leo.
